Site and app terms

The available app installers are free to download with a free account. No payment details are required and no subscription or recurring charge is created.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your password and recovery code private. Do not use someone else’s account, try to bypass access controls or disrupt the service.

Website accounts are separate from earlier community accounts. A website account can also connect a compatible Murmur app to the free hosted allowance. Future paid services would have their own terms and require a separate decision to subscribe.

Beta software

The apps are still being developed. Features, compatibility and availability can change. Check the product notes and keep copies of important work. Hosted access requires connecting your account from a compatible app, or using an existing beta key.

The installer supplied here is the named Windows release, with a checksum so you can compare your download. A matching checksum confirms the file matches this release; it is not a software-signing certificate or a guarantee that every function has been tested.

Free hosted Murmur

The hosted beta includes a test word allowance shared across your connected devices. Current allowance terms explain whether it renews or expires; your account shows your remaining words and any manual extension.

Text cleanup has a separate processing allowance. Accepted recordings finish even if they cross the word limit. Additional processing limits and shared capacity apply, including to failed work; recordings are not retained by this service.

Using the site

The forum currently presents earlier public discussions for reading. New posts and replies are paused. The guides retain their recorded test dates; check that commands apply to your system before running them.
