What you need

  • Windows 11. A Linux version is in development; there’s no Mac or phone version yet.
  • A microphone. Any will do; a headset gives the best results.
  • For our hosted speech and AI: an internet connection and a free NeuroDynamic account.
  • For speech on your own PC: nothing else to pay for. LexVoca uses your graphics card if it can, otherwise your processor, which is slower. The speech model only downloads if you choose this option.
  • Language: LexVoca writes in English, with British or American spelling. With your own speech server, it can also translate what you say into English.

Is LexVoca free?

Yes. The app is free for Windows 11, and speech on your own PC is free. Hosted speech and AI features come with allowances on your free NeuroDynamic account.

Does it work offline?

Yes, for speech: choose “On this PC” and your speech never leaves your computer. AI features, such as tidy-up and writing styles, need your NeuroDynamic account.

Will it type into terminals and virtual machines?

Yes. Commands wait for you to press Enter, and LexVoca can type into consoles and remote sessions that ignore Ctrl + V.

What do I need?

Windows 11 and a microphone. Any microphone works; a headset gives the best results.

Which languages does it support?

LexVoca writes in English, with British or American spelling. With your own speech server, it can also translate what you say into English.

Will my computer cope?

For our hosted speech, any Windows 11 PC with a microphone and internet will do. For speech on your own PC, LexVoca uses your graphics card if it can, otherwise your processor, which is slower.

Do I need an account?

Not to start. Speech on your own PC needs no account. Our hosted speech and the AI features use a free NeuroDynamic account.
